Beth Coutts Art
Beth Coutts paints landscapes that breathe between presence and absence, inviting quiet narratives to unfold in the land.
I paint landscapes as a storyteller: sometimes the scene speaks, sometimes it withholds. Working from both photographs and imagined worlds, I create environments in which human presence is subtly suggested or intentionally absent. The transient quality of human existence has become increasingly central to my work. These spacious compositions offer a sense of stillness, inviting viewers to slow down and immerse themselves in the quiet narrative that unfolds within the land.
